Theunis Duminy is the founder of Vertiqal and holds a BEng in Industrial Engineering from Stellenbosch University. He is drawn to the point where a promising idea meets the untidy reality of an operating business.
Vertiqal began with a simple frustration. Too much AI work ended in recommendations, demos and experiments that never became part of how a company actually worked.
So the company was built around the work after the idea. We understand the process, build the system and make it reliable enough for people to depend on.
Vertiqal remains deliberately small at its core, bringing in trusted specialists and partner firms when the work calls for them. That keeps every engagement close, capable and focused on what genuinely needs to be built.
The standards we work by.
Four practical commitments shape every engagement and give you a clear way to judge the work.
We finish with something working
Advice is useful only when it can survive contact with the business. We take ideas through design, build and deployment until there is a system your team can use.
The work belongs to you
You keep the code, credentials, documentation and accounts. Handover is part of the engagement, so the system does not depend on us staying in the room.
Judgement stays human
We automate repetitive work while keeping people at the decisions that need context, care or accountability. Those approval points are designed into the system from the start.
Results are measured honestly
We agree on a baseline before the work begins, then measure what changed and over what period. Estimates stay labelled as estimates, and every number comes with a method you can inspect.
The organisations who trust us.
Financial services, media, research, healthcare, education and enterprise development, from established institutions to teams building their first internal system.
Based in Cape Town, working with clients across South Africa. Reach us at info@vertiqal.co.za.
Automation, training and consulting each have their own page. Custom software sits inside the automation work.
Start with a conversation.
Tell us what is taking your team too long. If we can help, we will say how. If we cannot, we will say that too.
